FAISALABAD: The Khurrianwala police took into custody a man on charges of throwing his four children into a canal in Sheikhupura district.

The suspect, Mohsin, was detained following the complaint filed by his wife, who alleged that he had thrown their three minor daughters – Javeria, Nimra, Urwa and a son Zulqarnain – into the Bhikki Canal.

She told police that she had left her home a couple of days ago following a quarrel with Mohsin over a financial issue.In her absence, her husband threw their children into the canal, she added.

A police officer claimed though the alleged crime was not committed in the remit of Faisalabad police, the suspect had been detained for interrogation.
