LAHORE, Oct 20: National champions, Army gained three valuable points in the second Pakistan Premier Soccer League 2005, beating Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) 2-0 at Army Sports Complex, Rawalpindi under floodlights.

With this win, Army completed its double over 2003 PFF President Cup champions PTCL who won the national Challenge Cup at the same venue last August.

In the first leg Army had defeated PTCL 3-1 at Punjab Medical College, Ground, Faisalabad on Sept 12.

Midfielder Mubashar opened the scoring with 54th minute header, followed by striker Jaffar Hussain’s 70th minute goal.

It was Army’s 14th win from 20 matches with a tally of 45 points scoring 47 goals while conceding eight.

Wapda also have same number of points but they scored 42 goals against 12 conceded.

Wapda missed the opportunity of overtaking Army when they were held to a scoreless draw by Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) in second match of the day.

Oct 21: KRL v Army (Army Stadium, Rawalpindi — 9 pm)

Oct 22: Afghan Club v Panthers Club (Ayub Stadium, Quetta 9 pm).

Oct 23: Army v Wapda (Army Stadium, Rawalpindi — 9 pm)
