PAKISTAN has become arena of political wrangling in the name of religion. Destroying our own property and committing violence is never a pragmatic solution.

Such actions will neither benefit the religion nor cause any problem to the intended target. Only Pakistan will suffer and it does suffer.

A campaign should be launched involving all Muslim and non-Muslim states against blasphemy at international forums.

A combined movement will surely make a difference and a change will come in the West; otherwise we will continue fighting with each other and destroy our own country. This makes no difference to the Western world.

Moreover, charters of international forums must be amended, adding a clause defining the sentence to the blasphemers regardless of his or her position in any given society.

If countries, where blasphemous acts are committed, create hurdles in implementing these laws in their countries, trade with them must be cut off. Such and similar measures can be beneficial in stopping peoples and governments from committing blasphemous acts.
