TAXILA: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi retired Capt Anwarul Haq said the district administration would control price hike and ensure availability of essential commodities in Ramazan.
He visited a Ramzan bazaar here on Monday to review the arrangements to provide relief to the citizens.
He inspected stalls and checked the quality and prices of consumable items, and implementation of the Covid-19 SOPs.
The DC said as per the policy of the Punjab government, 25pc subsidy was being given on 13 essential items in the Ramazan bazaars.
He said provision of good quality commodities on controlled rates was top priority of the administration, adding no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
He said availability of vegetables and fruits would be ensured in the market.
He said people would be facilitated by checking price hike and discouraging hoarding.
He also directed the price control magistrates to ensure sale of sugar at the fixed rate of Rs85 per kg in the open market and Rs65 per kg in the Ramazan bazaars.
