KARACHI: The city administration on Friday decided that the prices of fruit and vegetables would be fixed on a daily basis during the month of Ramazan.

Official sources added that a final price list of essential food items was also being finalised and it would be published for Ramazan in consultation with stakeholders.

They said that a series of consultations were held at the commissioner officer on the directive of city Commissioner Navid Ahmed Shaikh.

The sources said that prices of grocery items, flour, bakery, etc, would be determined with the consultation of all stakeholders.

However, they said that the prices of fruit and vegetables would be determined on daily basis in Ramazan.

The sources said that a meeting held to review the prices of wheat flour under the chairmanship of commissioner also discussed the efforts being made to fix prices of edible items in Ramazan.

The meeting was attended among others by the additional commissioner, deputy commissioner of district Central, additional deputy commissioners of all districts and representatives of association of shopkeepers.
