KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail conferred civil awards on 15 personalities at an investiture ceremony held at Governor House on Tuesday.

The governor presented the awards on behalf of the president of Pakistan to the people who have excelled in their respective fields. Those who received Sitara-i-Imtiaz are late Dr Nisar Ahmed Siddiqi (education), Talat Hussain (art, acting), late Ruth Pfau (public service), Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood (public service), Sabina Mehtab Khatri (public service), Adnan Asdar Ali (philanthropy).

The Pride of Performance award was presented to Sakina Samo (art, acting), Zulfiqar Ali Loond (art, instrument), Abdul Qudoos Arif (art, painting) and Mehtab Mehboob (art, literature). Tamgha-i-Imtiaz was conferred on Prof Dr Noman Ahmed (education), Prof Dr Muhammad Saeed Qureshi (education, health sciences), Majid Jehangir (art, acting), Syed Faisal Mahmood (public service) and Mohammad Aslam (gallantry).
