LAHORE: The Punjab government on Thursday cancelled transfer orders of the Khushab deputy commissioner prima facie the announcement of election schedule for PP-84 (Khushab-III).

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced by-election for PP-84 on May 5, which was vacated due to the death of PML-N MPA Waris Kallu after he had contracted coronavirus.

The election process was started with the issue of public notice by the returning officer on Thursday. The candidate can file their nomination papers with the RO from March 19 to 24.

The Punjab government transferred Khushab DC Musarrat Jabeen on Wednesday and directed her to report to the S&GAD. In the same notification, the government posted Chief Minister’s Office additional secretary Irfan Ali Khan as Khushab DC. However, the government withdrew both the orders on Thursday.
