No more loans

Published February 27, 2021

TAKING loan from one to pay off the other is a strategy that does not even work for individuals in the long run. How can that be a sustainable strategy for a nation? But this is what we have been doing as a nation for a pretty long time.

Parliament – and perhaps the Supreme Court, if it has the legal power – should bar the government from taking any more internal or foreign loans. To continue to live beyond our means does not sound like a viable strategy.
