PSL chaos

Published February 26, 2021

MASSIVE traffic jams owing to the ongoing PSL at the National Stadium have become one of Karachi’s major issues. Every time there is a match or practice session at the stadium, the situation around the Stadium Road becomes unbearable.

Although the traffic is being diverted to other roads, people cannot reach the nearby institutions, offices and residences because of traffic jams and due to the closure of the surrounding areas.

People do have important meetings, examinations and interviews at those nearby offices and institutions, but they get stuck in traffic. They have to walk across the Expo Centre to reach their destinations.

It has become almost impossible to avoid such traffic chaos every day. The residents of Gulshan-i-Iqbal and Karsaz Road also face the same issue. They reach their offices late in the morning because of traffic jams, and return home in the evening late and exhausted.

The authorities should resolve this issue through proper traffic arrangements and management.
