DADU: An 11-year-old girl was subjected to criminal assault in a street of Khatri village, some seven kilometres from Khairpur Nathan Shah town, by two suspects on Tuesday.

She was admitted to the KN Shah Taluka Hospital for emergency treatment.

Belonging to a peasant family, the girl was grabbed as she came out of her house to play in the street. Some residents of the area said she was raped by the two suspects in the street and no one dared to intervene as they belonged to an influential family.

Her parents lodged an FIR (46/2021) against the two suspects at the KN Shah police station. Dadu SSP Aijaz Shaikh told local reporters that raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects.

Two rapists jailed for life

The fourth additional sessions judge of Dadu on Tuesday sentenced two brothers, Khalid and Bilawal, to life imprisonment for subjecting a 12-year-old girl to gang rape. A fine of Rs200,000 was also imposed on each of the convicts, who were sent to the Hyderabad jail to serve out their sentences.

According to the FIR registered against them at the Aminiani police station, Khalid and Bilawal, sons of a feudal lord, barged into the house of a peasant in Sajan village, located within Dadu taluka, on July 1, 2020 and kidnapped his daughter.

They took her to their guest room (autaq), where they subjected her to rape, the FIR stated.
