ISLAMABAD: Mayor Pir Adil Gillani on Monday opposed federal government move to mortgage F-9 Park to get a loan of around Rs500 billion.

After Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) session, Mayor said the government’s move will be resisted. He said the park was the property of 2.2 million residents of Islamabad and it would not be given to government for mortgage purpose, adding that he would also approach courts against the move.

Earlier, the mayor faced tough opposition from PTI during the MCI session. The opposition members alleged that the mayor had appointed an official, who faced corruption inquiries in the past, as DMA director.
