Housing scheme

Published January 21, 2021

IT is the fundamental responsibility of the state to provide employment, healthcare, education and shelter to its people. The housing scheme announced by the government is likely to do that at least on the ‘shelter’ front.

The scheme has raised many questions in the minds of the people who are sceptical about the possibility of getting a house at such a low cost as Rs3.5 million. People are also unaware of the procedure and protocol of receiving the loan, payment of instalments and other essential information related to the scheme.

To remove people’s doubts, the government should launch an official website to disseminate complete information, as people have heard tall claims but have been deceived many a time in the past.
