SWABI: The local leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami have threatened to launch a protest movement for the rights of Swabi district.

JI arranged a protest camp at Topi tehsil headquarters here on Tuesday. The camp was attended by JI local leaders and workers, including the members of youth wing of the party.

Mian Iftikhar Bacha, the district chief of the party, said on the occasion that the ruling party leaders belonging to Swabi claimed that they were given great share in power but despite that the district lagged behind in every field and even the tobacco Cess fund was not utilised for the welfare of the growers.

Saeed Zada Yousafzai, district deputy chief of the party, said that Swabi should get its share in the power royally and the leaders of the ruling party should stop dodging and misleading the people.

Gohar Ali, another leader of the party, said that Topi tehsil was situated near Tarbela Dam and people of the area had donated their lands for the project but they experienced prolonged and unscheduled power loadshedding.

Mohammad Bilal, district president of the youth wing of JI, said that youth were ready to render sacrifices for the nights of the district.

QWP: Qaumi Watan Party provincial chairman Sikandar Sherpao has said that the foreign funding case of the ruling party should be decided at the earliest because it would have a great impact on the country’s politics and future course of action for political parties.

Taking to journalists here on Tuesday, he said that money was transferred to PTI through wrong channels and the opposition parties wanted that the issue should be settled in the best interest of the country.

He said that the fund, which was received by PTI from foreign countries, was used in the previous elections.

Meanwhile, Chota Lahor police recovered a dead body on Tuesday. Police registered an FIR against unidentified killers and started investigation.
