Vested interests

Published January 14, 2021

MANY countries not blessed with as many natural resources as Pakistan are more developed than us. The primary reason for this is that the people of these countries possess a greater sense of patriotism.

In Pakistan, most people, especially the elite, pursue their vested interests over those of the country. There are many instances when public representatives and government servants have filled their pockets at the nation’s expense and got away because the rulers of the day decided to condone their despicable deeds.

This should not have been done as it has only emboldened the looters. It is no surprise that our economy is in chaos today.
