Seven arrested for assaulting boy in Kohat

KOHAT: The Kohat police on Monday arrested seven persons for assaulting a 13-year-old boy, and also recovered the teenager from their custody in cantonment area here.

Addressing a press conference, DSP Bashir Dad said Sher Mohammad, an employee of the Commissioner House, reported to the police that his son, Mohammad Faizan, had gone missing on January 6.

He said DPO Javed Iqbal had formed a committee headed by him to trace the missing boy. He said the team raided a place in the cantonment, and arrested the accused. The police officer said the medical examination of the victim proved that he had been assaulted.

DSP Bashir Dad identified the accused as Adnan, Ayaz Ali, Mohammad Ziaul Haq, Rashid Khan, Zafarullah, Khan Bahadur and Musawar Jamal. He said the accused also admitted to the crime.
