LAKKI MARWAT: Social welfare minister Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan has said the provincial government has approved the establishment of a college for nurses and paramedics in the district at the cost of Rs2.66 million.

Addressing a public meeting at the residence of PTI district chapter general secretary Shafqatullah Khan Khoidadkhel in Lakki city, the minister said the provincial working development party had approved the nursing college project.He said political leaders would have to forge unity for the area’s development.

The minister said work on trauma centre was under way and would be completed at the cost of Rs370 million.

“The government is also spending Rs3 billion on the construction of roads and Rs1.5 billion on water schemes in my constituency,” he said.

FOUR KILLED: Four people were killed in separate incidents here.

A Pesco lineman died in Nawerkhel village here on Tuesday after suffering an electric shock on a pole during repairs.

The body of Hidayatullah was handed over to the family by the authorities after fulfilling formalities.

The police said rivals gunned down proclaimed offender Zafar Ali near Hayatkhel village. He was wanted in a murder case.

Also, a man was killed and two suffered injuries as an auto-rickshaw and a car collided near Malang Adda on Indus Highway.

The Rescue 1122 shifted the body and the injured to the district headquarters hospital.

In another accident, a young motorcyclist died of critical injuries after a speeding coach hit his motorcycle on a road near Ghaznikhel area.

GRID STATION: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district general secretary Shafqatullah Khan Khoidadkhel has demanded the early start of work on the establishment of 132KV grid station in Lakki city.

He told reporters here on Tuesday that land for the project had been acquired near Lakki city, so delay in its execution was unjustified.

The PTI leader said the grid station would help address the excessive power outages and low voltage.

ELECTED: The new office-bearers of Lakki Marwat Press Club were elected unopposed during a meeting here the other day.

They included Latifullah Khan as the president, Irfanullah Khan general secretary, Gul Tayyaz patron-in-chief, Qutbuddin Betanni vice-president, Takrimul Haq joint secretary, Ihsanullah finance secretary, Mohammad Ishfaq Khan press secretary and Samargul Marwat legal adviser.
