Junk food

Published December 26, 2020

FAST food is popular among teenagers. I too would relish it five years ago. But little did I realise then that all those items, abundant in fats, salt and spices, could pose a serious threat to my health.

The first negative effect of junk food was visible in the form of obesity. I became overweight. Doctors advised me to reduce weight by jogging and exercising. I felt breathlessness and exhaustion during such physical activities.

The accumulated fat and excessive weight affected my heart, and I developed a heart condition. Now I have been forced by circumstances to give up fast food altogether.

I would, therefore, urge all people, especially the teenagers, to avoid eating junk food. Simple home-made food, cooked hygienically, is the best food for us.
