Pakistan registered 75 new deaths caused by the coronavirus over the last 24 hours, according to the government's Covid-19 portal, the highest daily death toll in over four months.
The last time the country reported more deaths in a single day was on July 12, when 87 deaths were recorded.
Most of the new fatalities were reported by Punjab (30) and Sindh (27), with the overall national death toll rising to 8,166.
