MIRPURKHAS: Two men and a woman drowned to death in Mithrao Canal near Degan Bhurgari village in Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka on Sunday while three others were rescued. They had fallen into the canal after a car hit a motorcycle and then both the vehicles skidded down into the water channel.

Witnesses said that accident took place after the car carrying a family of Meghwar community suddenly went out of the driver’s control and hit the motorcycle coming from its opposite direction.

They said that villagers standing nearby immediately rushed to rescue the victims, some jumped into the canal to save their lives but they could manage to save only three occupants of the car while three others, Shrimati Paroti, Lachman Kalal and Goband had drowned by then and divers took out their bodies. Search for the motorcycle rider’s body was on.

The three bodies were shifted to KGM taluka hospital for legal formalities.
