KARACHI: City Administrator and Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani on Tuesday said that Karachi Metropolitan Corporation was providing equal opportunities to youths belonging to middle class to replace current bureaucrats by establishing ‘CSS Corners’ in different parts of the city.

“People of every locality are being given opportunity to prepare for the CSS [Central Superior Services] which would give fruitful results in the future,” he added.

The administrator passed these remarks while inaugurating another ‘CSS Corner’ at Al Markaz al-Islami at Ayesha Manzil.

Senior officials of the municipal administration, former bureaucrats and a large number of students were also present.

Mr Shallwani said that CSS was a tough exam and candidates must have vast knowledge, smart reading and focus to pass the examination.

He was of the view that if candidates had knowledge of external and internal affairs, Pakistan movement and other matters, they could surely pass it.

The administrator said that one CSS Corner was already established at Frere Hall and a large number of candidates were enrolled there. “Second CSS Corner has been established at Al Markaz-i-Islami and it will cater to the areas of Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, Buffer Zone, Liaquatabad and adjacent localities,” he said adding that former bureaucrats, professors and officers would teach candidates who should utilise the experience of the trainers.

The administrator said that presence of former bureaucrats and officers would surely help the candidates, but they should also keep reading good books for good results.
