LAHORE: As many as 21 more coronavirus-infected patients died on Sunday as compared to 13 such deaths on Saturday, taking the virus death toll in Punjab to 2,006.

The primary and secondary healthcare department has reported 565 new coronavirus cases in Punjab, taking the total number of positive patients in the province to 86,556.

Of 565 new coronavirus cases, 281 have been reported from Lahore, 52 from Rawalpindi, 34 from Gujrat, 24 from Faisalabad, 16 from Multan, 15 from Pakpattan, 14 each from Sargodha and DG Khan, 13 from Mandi Bahauddin and 12 each from Gujranwala and Bahawalpur.

A spokesperson for the health department says some 589,523 coronavirus tests have so far been conducted in Punjab, while as many as 55,175 positive patients have recovered so far.
