THE recent cases of sexual harassment of girl students by male teachers at a prestigious private school in Lahore is nothing new. As everyone knows, sexual harassment has been going on in schools, colleges and universities for decades.

The vast majority of the cases have not been reported owing to embarrassment and shame felt by the victims.

I have a simple solution to stop this menace completely and permanently.

There should be a ban on co-education in schools, colleges and universities. At girls schools, colleges and universities, all teaching and non-teaching staff should be female, except the security guards, who should remain outside the gates of the institution.
