RECENTLY, the Islamabad district administration has imposed a lockdown in few sectors of the capital territory owing to a hike in coronavirus cases.

The decision was taken to minimise the further spread of the virus by restricting the people to their homes.

However, the said precautionary measure taken by administration are inadequate. Only concrete blocks are placed on the main roads, while people freely enter or exit from the locked down areas. In other words, only vehicular movement has been restricted but pedestrian are totally free to move.

Such measures cannot not produce the desired results unless people of the area are restricted to homes.
