RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case against a doctor for allegedly making an attempt to rape a teenage girl at his private clinic in Ratta Amral.

The 17-year-old lodged an FIR with the police on Sunday stating that she went to the clinic located near her house at Hazara Colony as she was feeling unwell on Wednesday.

She alleged that the doctor gave her medicine that left her semiconscious and then tried to rape her.

She said after she started shouting, the doctor escaped from the clinic.

Police said an FIR has been registered and raids were underway to arrest the suspect.

9,138 driving licences issued

City Traffic Police issued 9,138 driving licences in June through its one-window operation.

The police said two separate counters have been established for women and transgender applicants.

A spokesman said the licensing branch issued 5,477 learner driving permits, 474 new licences, 2,853 renewed licences, 39 duplicates, 52 endorsements, 15 international licences besides renewing 228 licences of other districts.

He said all safety measures were being taken while implementing the standard operating procedures (SOPs) against the spread of coronavirus.

Chief Traffic Officer Syed Ali Akbar said the traffic police through the one-window operation would eliminate driving licence files, driving tickets and photographs and make it possible for citizens to obtain driving licences only through original identity cards.

He said highly educated officers in special uniforms were assisting the applicants in the one-window operation hall.
