ISLAMABAD: Two persons were shot and injured during a robbery in capital’s rural area on Monday.

Police said both of them were in the hospital as their condition is critical.

Talking to Dawn, Khanna police SHO said the incident took place when they were leaving a petrol pump for a bank located in Kurri to deposit an amount. The suspects came in a car and snatched the cash at gunpoint.

The robbers opened fire when staff at the pump put up resistance. The robbers managed to escape.

Separately, a woman was killed in a road accident in Khanna.

She was on a motorcycle with her brother when a water tanker hit them near Zia Masjid.

As a result both suffered injuries, and were shifted to a hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead.

The driver of the tanker managed to escape.
