SIMLA: Mr. Jinnah was today [June 24] with the Viceroy for an hour and three quarters, and was given an ovation by a large crowd as he came from Viceroy’s House. After his return to the Cecil Hotel, he had a meeting with the Muslim League invitees to tomorrow’s Conference.

Mr. Gandhi arrived at the Viceregal Lodge 12-45 p.m. for his interview with Lord Wavell. Mr. Gandhi’s interview with the Viceroy lasted two hours. He later had a talk with Lady Wavell for half an hour. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Congress President, left for the Viceroy’s House at 11-30 a.m...

After his conversations with some of the leaders today His Excellency the Viceroy has decided that the Conference will meet at 11 a.m. tomorrow, as already arranged, says an official communiqué issued here tonight.

It is understood that His Excellency informed Mr. Jinnah that he has already prepared an agenda indicating the various heads which will be open to discussion in the Conference tomorrow and that such points as may be put forward by way of clarification, elucidation or modification that may be required regarding these proposals will be discussed and dealt with in the Conference itself…
