HARIPUR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA from PK-42 Faisal Zaman has said that despite rendering sacrifices of graves of their ancestors and fertile land for construction of Tarbela Dam the people of Khalabat Township have been deprived of their due share in development in the past.

This he said while speaking to a ceremony where he handed over two trolleys to the Municipal Corporation of Khalabat Township here the other day.

He said that after the annexation of Khalabat Township with PK-42, he put the development of the township and all those localities inhabited by affected people of Tarbela Dam as his topmost priority.

The lawmaker said that as a first step the sanitation system was being modernised so that the longstanding problem of solid waste disposal could be resolved. He said and 19 garbage collection vehicles and 30 solid waste collection containers were being arranged.

He claimed that with new vehicles and containers sanitation was expected to be improved on modern lines. Apart from sanitation project, he said that for addressing the problem of shortage of space for a graveyard 34 kenals of land was being acquired in sector 4 of the town, while for each mohallah another piece of four kanals would also be allocated.

He said all the tubewells would have separate solar system and a dual road from Chappar Chowk to Chungi No 1 would be built for easing the traffic load.

For addressing electricity voltage problems, new transformers have been approved and the new jobs that were being created in the municipal committee would be given only to the residents of Khalabat township, he promised.
