The Labour and Human Resources Department of the Sindh government has written a letter to the president of the Employees Federation of Pakistan, reminding him of the provincial government's directives to not lay off any employees during the lockdown, enforced to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Noting that the government has received numerous complaints from workers who have allegedly been laid off, the department's secretary, Abdul Rasheed Solangi, has asked the president to ensure the government's directives are being followed in this regard.

The secretary also requested the head of employees federation to ensure timely payment of salaries to all workers in the province.
