LAHORE: MCB Bank has donated a sum of Rs5 million for distribution of food hampers among the deserving families during the ongoing lockdown.

In a press release on Thursday, MCB Bank chairman Mian Mohammad Mansha presented a donation cheque to the Jahandad Society for Community Development (JSCD).

JSCD has initiated a campaign to distribute food hampers among daily-wage earners, who are unable to earn their livelihood because of the ongoing lockdown necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Each hamper costs around Rs3,200 and contains essential items, including flour, rice, pulses, sugar, ghee, salt, soap, tea, spices and a pack of rusks for the needy families.

JSCD has adopted 10,000 families for the provision of food during the lockdown.

MCB Bank strongly believed in the corporate social responsibility and had been undertaking numerous other initiatives in the areas of education, health, environment and social awareness, in the past, the press release said.
