Dozens of people living in Karachi's Ibrahim Hyderi area protested over joblessness and hunger as a result of the province-wide lockdown.

Chairman of the Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum (PFF) Mohammad Ali Shah said the people living in coastal areas had not been able to head out to sea for fishing for the last few days, adding that it was their only source of income. They had been struggling to feed their families and had come out to protest as a result.

Shah added that the government had said it would provide ration bags to deserving people but had not implemented it yet.

The residents ended their protest after assurances by police that their problems would be communicated to the authorities concerned for resolution.
