SWABI, Aug 24: The official results of the elections of union council Pabaini nazim has been withheld by the district returning officer after a female presiding officer and other female staff of a female polling station approached the court alleging that the winning candidate had bullied them into manipulating the voters in his favour.

According to unofficial result Mr Hanif Jadoon was elected from the UC Pabaini. His rivals alleged that he used illegal means for securing the required votes. They said that in the female polling stations Mr Jadoon used illegal methods and the polling staff was forced to influence the voters.

The presiding officer said that Mr Hanif had threatened her and her staff of dire consequences if they did not allow voting in his favour.

“The whole staff had been browbeaten by Mr Hanif and he wanted the voting in his favour by hook or by crook”, she said.

There were reports from various female polling stations that he used the pressurising tactics for securing votes.
