RAWALPINDI: A motorcycle of the station house officer (SHO) Civil Lines was on Saturday stolen from inside the police station.

Police registered a case against unidentified thieves and launched an investigation.

According to the police, SHO Sub-Inspector Tahir Shah arrived in the police station on his personnel Honda CD-70 and parked it outside the front desk on the premises of the police station.

Later, the SHO found the bike missing and lodged a complaint in his own police station against the unidentified thieves. When contacted, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Civil Lines Circle Beenish Fatima confirmed to Dawn that the bike of the SHO had gone missing from the police station.

“SHO Tahir Shah is an honest man and he cleared areas in his jurisdiction from criminals. It may be a conspiracy against him,” she said.

She suspected some rivals of the SHO or anti-social elements had lifted the motorcycle to dent his repute.

The city police officer has ordered SP Potohar Syed Ali for holding an inquiry and to fix responsibility, she said.
