ABBOTTABAD: Five people, including two brothers, died of gas suffocation at Nawan Sher area here on Thursday.

Sources said that they had turned gas heater on and went to sleep late on Wednesday night. The family members broke open the door on Thursday afternoon when the five men did not respond to repeated calls to wake up and found them unconscious.

All the five, stated to be between 25 and 30 years of age, were taken to Jinnah Hospital where doctors pronounced them dead. Later, the bodies were shifted to the DHQ hospital for autopsy.

The victims were identified as Umar Khan, Adeel Khan, Ahmed Jadoon, Wahab and Osama. After autopsy, the bodies were taken to Dhamthore village and buried there.
