LAHORE: While Saud Shakeel will lead Pakistan Shaheen team in the one-off one-dayer against Marylebone Cricket Club, Pakistan U-19 captain Rohail Nazir has been appointed as skipper of the Northern side for the T20 match against the same MCC team, which is touring Lahore from Feb 13 to 19.

The complete schedule of the tour by the MCC team is yet to be announced.

Saud, 24, is one of the 11 players who have been retained from the side that defeated Bangladesh by 77 runs in the ACC Emerging Cup final staged in Dhaka in November last year.

The other ten players of the one-day side include Akif Javed, Haider Ali, Hasan Mohsin, Imran Rafiq, Mohammad Mohsin, Omair Bin Yousuf, Rohail Nazir, Saif Badar, Sameen Gul and Umar Khan.

Zeeshan Malik is the only new face in the 12-man squad. The 23-year-old scored 780 runs in the just-concluded Quaid-e-Azam Trophy first-class tournament at an average of 52.

Meanwhile, Northern coach Mohammad Wasim has also announced his 12-player side for the T20 match.

Besides Rohail, prominent players of the Northern side which defeated Balochistan by 52 runs in the National T20 Cup final, are Ali Imran, Haider Ali and Zaid Alam.

The visiting MCC will also play two T20 matches, one each against Pakistan Super League sides of Lahore Qalan­dars and Multan Sultans.
