QUETTA: Balochistan Gover­nor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has said that provincial government is taking all possible measures for development of social sector with the support of social development organisations and the European Union.

Speaking at a convention of Local Support Organisations (LSOs) here on Tuesday, he lauded the role of the European Union for providing basic facilities in far-flung areas of Balochistan. The convention was organised by Balochistan Rural Support Progarmme (BRSP).

Ambassador of European Union to Pakistan Ms Androulla Kami­nara, Fina­n­­ce Minister Zahoor Buledi, ANP’s Parli­a­mentary Leader Asghar Khan Achakzai, Opposition Leader advocate Malik Sikandar, MPA Qadir Nail, MPA Shaheen Mehtarzai and BRSP Chief Executive Nadir Gul attended the convention.

The governor praised the contribution and role of BRSP in development of social sector in the province.

Ms Kaminara said that the EU would continue its efforts to ensure provision of basic facilities to the people of far-flung areas of the province and all efforts would be made for completion of clean drinking water projects in Balochistan.

She announced more social development programmes for Afghan refugees and the local community in the province.
