LAHORE: A mute and hearing-impaired teenage girl, who was kidnapped from Gujarpura on Monday, was recovered from Batapur with torture marks on her body, police claimed on Tuesday.

The girl’s family claimed that she was raped and demanded action against her kidnappers. Police lodged a case and sent the girl to hospital for medical examination.

Sharing initial details, a police official claimed that the 13-year-old girl had gone missing on Monday while she was playing outside her house near Kot Khawaja Saeed. After failing to find her, the family reported the matter to police.

Meanwhile, a patrolling policeman found the girl in Batapur with her hands and legs tied and marks on her body.

Later, police managed to trace her family that submitted an application demanding her medical examination, suspecting she was raped, the police official said, adding that the case had been handed over to the investigation police for further action.
