ISLAMABAD: Promotion of some senior civil servants (grade 21) to the next grade was approved by the Central Selection Board at its meeting presided over by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday.

Sources told Dawn that among the officers to be promoted, 11 were from the Pakistan Administrative Services (PAS), five from Police Service, three each from Foreign Office and Audit and Accounts and one from the Information Group.

A notification to this effect is expected in a few days.

The officers are IGP, Sindh, Syed Kaleem Imam, Blaochistan Chief Secretary Fazeel Akhtar, Police Foundation managing director Shoaib Dastagir, National Police Academy commandant Mohammad Tahir, Faisal Shahkar and Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar. Zahida Parveen of the Information Group and Shahid Gul Qureshi, Muhammad Akram and Farrukh Ahmad of the Audit and Accounts Group are also on the list.

The 11 PAS officers are Dr Allah Bakhsh, Fazeel Asghar, Syed Pervaiz Abbas, Ali Raza Bhutta, Javed Akbar, Afzal Latif, Babar Hayat, Mian Waheeduddin, Ali Shahzada, Daud Ahmad and Inamullah Dharejo.

The promotion of senior police officer, Sanaullah Abbasi, was also under consideration.
