LAHORE: Rizwan Raees Khan, who was in a three-way lead in the opening round, on Saturday became the leader of the 36th Millat Tractors Governor’s Cup Golf Championship at the Lahore Gymkhana Course here on Saturday.

Rizwan of the host club established his credentials after posting a second-round of 71 to have a two-day aggregate of 139, leaving behind Friday’s joint leaders Imran Mehmood and Hussain Ata.

Imran disappointed on day two which threw him to a dismal 24th place. Hussain, however, saved the blushes to stay fourth.

Rizwan is followed by Ammad Nadeem and Qasim Ali Khan, who both are one stroke behind, while Hussain is on 142. Behind them are the trio od Jaffer Masih, Mohammad Omar Farooq and Omar Zia with total net aggregate of 144.

In the ladies’ event, Shahzadi Gulfam of Lahore Garrison played to emerge leader with a score of net 72. The other notable ones are Tehmina Ahmad and Momina Tarrar who both netted 79.
