ISLAMABAD: A man was arrested on the charge of killing his friend, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Khayam Town and the victim was identified as Mohammad Muzammil, a mechanic.

According to the police, the family of the victim heard a gunshot shortly after one of his friends went to his room.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect came to Muzammil’s house and after sometime a gunshot was heard. When the family went to the room they saw the victim lying on the floor with a wound to his head.

On suspicion the police arrested the friend for interrogation and also recovered the pistol.

The friend denied any involvement. “I got a call from Muzammil when I was having meal; he asked me to come over to his house immediately,” the police quoted the suspect as saying.

When he reached his house, he found the door of his room locked from inside, the suspect told the police during interrogation, adding that when he knocked the door, he was told by the victim to use the other door.

He heard a gunshot and when he entered the room, he found him lying on the floor, the police added.
