MIRPURKHAS: Staff of district administrations and students of schools and colleges took out rallies in several Sindh towns on Sunday to observe Oct 27 as black day in condemnation of Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir on the same day in 1947.

In Mirpurkhas, two assistant commissioners led a rally in which officers of several government departments including education, health, municipal committee and social welfare participated.

The rally arrived at local press club where speakers condemned United Nations and Indian government for the inhuman curfew on Kashmir for over 80 days.

They urged the Indian government to immediately lift curfew to ensure free movement of people in held Kashmir and said Pakistanis stood by their Kashmiri brethern.

They urged the UN and Muslim countries to play their role in ensuring rights of Kashmiri people and their independence from Indian occupation.

SUKKUR: Like other parts of the country, black day was observed in Sukkur, Ghotki, Jacobabad and Kandhkot-Kashmore districts and rallies were taken out to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethern.

In Sukkur, deputy commissioner led a rally which started from his office and marched to the press club. Government staff, students of different educational institutions and members of civil society participated in the rally. Staff of Pakistan Railways and students of Pak Army Public School also took out rallies, which culminated at press club.

In Jacobabad, the district administration took out a rally which was led by additional deputy commissioner-I and was attended by members of political, social, religious and trade organisations.

The participants marched on different roads before assembling at DC Chowk where the rally turned into a public meeting.

The protesters’ leaders appealed to Muslim countries to take notice of atrocities of Indian army in Kashmir and massacre of innocent Muslims and demanded that Kashmiris be allowed to use their right of self-determination.

Activists of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl and Ittehad Ahle Sunnat also took out rallies and torched effigy of Narendra Modi.

The rally of Ittehad Ahle Sunnat marched on different roads and held a demonstration while JUI-F’s rally started from the party’s district office and terminated at DC Chowk.

Similar rallies were taken out in Kandhkot.

NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Staff of district administration and students observed black day to express solidarity with brutalised people of India-held Kashmir.

The participants in the rally observed one minute silence and offered a collective prayer for the people of India-held Kashmir. They said the day was not far when people of Kashmir would exercise their right of self determination.

APP adds: The Hyderabad district administration organised a rally to observe black day in condemnation of Indian atrocities against people of occupied valley.

Hyderabad Commissioner Mohammad Abass Baloch who led the rally appealed to the world to take notice of Indian atrocities and implement UN resolutions to resolve long standing dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.

DIG Naeem Ahmed Shaikh said the world including Pakistan had clearly declared that Kashmir was only for the people of Kashmir and they be allowed to decide their fate. Pakistani people and government would support the indigenous struggle of Kashmiris for their right to self determination, he said.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Abro urged the United Nations to force India to lift curfew imposed on occupied territory. Kashmir was a lifeline for Pakistan and every citizen of this country would support people of Kashmir in their freedom struggle, she said.

Earlier, a rally led by commissioner, the DIG and the DC was taken out from commissioner’s office and terminated at the main gate of the Shahbaz building.
