ISLAMABAD: A man was killed and two others were injured during attempted robbery in a house in the area of Noon Village on Monday, police said.

Police, however, believed that the man was a suspected robber killed from the bullet fired by his accomplices.

The robbers entered the house while members of the family were asleep and looted valuables.

One of the family members awoke when the culprits were leaving with the valuables and started shouting.

As a result they dropped a box filled with stolen items and escaped, the police said, adding but some of the family members chased them. When robbers saw them chasing they opened fire on them, injuring three people including two members of the family.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them was pronounced dead.

The deceased was yet to be identified, but was suspected to be one of the robbers, the police said.

The injured were identified as Basit and Ishrat, residents of the house, they added.

Meanwhile, a man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Shahzad Town, the police said.

Two persons were travelling on a motorcycle when a car hit them. As a result both suffered injuries while the driver of the car escaped from there with the vehicle.

The injured were shifted to hospital where one of them was pronounced dead.
