THIS refers to the letter by a citizen who has drawn the attention of authorities concerned towards the harassment by some bank officials at midnight (Aug 6).

According to the writer, around midnight while he was out of home, a bank recovery team visited his home and used threatening language with his family and him on phone.

He has written to the senior management of the bank and filed a complaint with the banking ombudsman. This old man will sincerely advise the aggrieved not to attach the remotest hope of justice from the bank or even banking ombudsman.

When my beloved Pakistan had not entered the list of ‘enlightened countries’ Justice Sardar Muhammad Iqbal was the federal ombudsman handling banking complaints.

I filed my second complaint against National Bank of Pakistan. The ombudsman in his three-page decision at the end wrote that in case he received this complainant again, he would make the NBP president himself personally responsible. Today, such true justice can’t even be daydreamed of.
