FAISALABAD: Police have taken into custody the personal secretary to former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan in connection with a double murder case, sources say.

According to the sources, police took the PML-N leader’s aide, Tariq Janbaz, into custody after the arrest of an alleged shooter, Ali Raza, who is allegedly involved in the killing of two former associates of Rana Sanaullah -- Asif Butt and his brother Imran Butt.

Sheharyar Khan, son-in-law of Rana Sanaullah, is already in police custody and on physical remand on charges of murder of Asif and Imran.

Janbaz has been associated with Rana Sanaullah for many years. However, police officials did not confirm that Janbaz has been taken into custody.
