ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has fixed Rs673 as the daily wage for unskilled and juvenile workers.

Besides, the daily wages for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers have also been fixed at Rs990, Rs770 and Rs675, respectively.

In this regard, notifications signed by Director Industries and Labour Mohammad Waqar Anwar were issued on Monday.

One of the notifications said the minimum monthly wages of unskilled workers and juvenile workers in all industrial/commercial establishments would be implemented with effect from July 1, 2019.

The minimum wage per day (for eight working hours) for adult unskilled workers and juvenile workers employed in industrial undertakings is fixed at Rs673 while the minimum wage per month (for 26 working days) would be Rs17,500.

The capital administration also fixed the monthly emoluments for part-time employees with effect from July 1.

The minimum part-time per day wage for skilled workers is fixed at Rs990 while Rs770 would be the wage for semi-skilled workers and Rs675 for unskilled workers.

The minimum monthly wage for part-time workers has been fixed at Rs7,700.

The wages have been fixed under section 6 of Minimum Wages Ordinance 1961.
