VEHARI: A rickshaw driver was shot dead by three robbers near Chak 463-EB, Burewala Saddar area about 50km from here on Sunday.

Usman, along with his friend Allah Ditta, was going to Chak-463/EB when three robbers snatched thousands of rupees from him. They opened fire on Usman who died on the spot and his friend Allah Ditta suffered injuries and was admitted to the THQ hospital.

Burewala Saddar SHO Nadir Khan said police registered a case against the robbers.

DPO Saqib Sultan constituted a team to trace the robbers.

SUICIDE: A matriculation student committed suicide here on Sunday.

Police said the 16-year-old girl wanted to marry a person of her choice but her mother did not agree with her. She committed suicide in frustration, they said.
