ISLAMABAD: The capital police have reportedly submitted an incomplete challan in the 10-year-old Farishta abduction and murder case in the district and sessions court, sources told Dawn on Friday.

The police officials close to the investigation told Dawn that challan was submitted through police’s prosecution department.

The sources said the challan was incomplete as the investigators were waiting for medical and forensic tests reports, though it had the confession and polygraph test report of the suspect, they said.

During the polygraph test the suspect was asked seven questions, designed on specific patron, which revealed that he was lying, the sources said.

The challan also includes the revelation of the suspect that how he abducted the girl and killed her later on, they said. Meanwhile, a judicial magistrate on Friday gave another 14 days judicial remand of the suspect who has been detained in Adiala jail.

Farishta went missing on May 15 from outside of her house and the Shahzad Town police registered a report of her disappearance on next day in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s father.

On May 19, the police registered a kidnapping case in response to the complaint, and the next day the girl was found murdered in village Tamma.

On June 22, the capital police announced that the suspect in the abduction and murder case had been arrested.
