GUJRAT: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) president and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has laid the foundation stone of Ch Sajjad Haider Memorial Eye Hospital under the auspices of Chef International here on Sunday.

On this occasion, acting Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Ch Wajahat Hussain, Moonis Elahi, Chairman Chef International Professor Dr Dawood, Chaudhary Ijaz Warraich, former minister Mian Imran Masood and others were also present.

Chaudhry Ahmed Jawad, a retired bureaucrat who dedicated a piece of land measuring more than an acre for the establishment of hospital briefed the participants about the salient features of the project.

Addressing the ceremony, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that such a welfare project was direly needed in the area. He appealed to the people, particularly the business community, to strengthen the vision of Imran Khan for the betterment of common man. He said Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had promised to release funds for the Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital.
