ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday served notices on the owners of motels and hotels located along Murree Road, including Islamabad Club, for immediate removal of encroachments and other installations established on the right of way or beyond their plot lines.

According to a statement, the Building Control Section of the authority served the notices on Embassy Lodge, Best Western, Dream Land Motel, Majestic Banquets and Ramada to remove barriers, guard rooms, entry gates, iron grills, generators and other constructions and encroachments established on the right of way of the road.

The Islamabad Club administration was also served a notice to remove the boundary wall and other installations established on the right of way.

“Hotels/motels located along Murree Road have been using the right of way of Murree Road for parking or other purposes. In the past no action in this regard was taken,” said the statement.

It said the managements of these premises had been directed to immediately remove all installations made on the right of way failing which the CDA would conduct an operation.

Meanwhile,the CDA along with the capital administration carried out an anti-encroachment operation along IJP Road atMohallaAliabad opposite the Social Security Hospital.

During the operation, encroachments and constructions established on the right of way of the road were removed.

The structures demolished included 80 rooms, 25 washrooms, 15 kitchens and 20 boundary walls.

During the operation, 200 metre-strip of right of way was got vacated.
