HARIPUR: Three people were killed and two others injured in different incidents, police said here on Sunday.

A young man in his twenties allegedly committed suicide in the limits of Kot Najibullah police station. Police quoted Haq Nawaz of Ladha Jhamra village as saying that his son Mohammad Fayaz, 20, was busy with his mobile phone ignoring his mother’s advice to go to mosque for offering prayers. When she failed in sending her son, Fayaz, to mosque she scolded him which infuriated the young man who allegedly locked himself in the room and committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan.

In another incident, Azhar Mehmood of Hattar village was on the rooftop of his house when he allegedly suffered fits and fell down getting critically injured. He was taken to hospital, but did not survive.

Meanwhile, a teenage boy was killed and two others were injured when two motorcycles collided on GT Road near Donali stop.

Police said that Nazakat Zaman, 18, of Sera-i-Nehmat Khan was on way to Shah Maqsood on his motorcyle when it collided with another bike. As a result, Nazakat, Naeem and Khuram were injured and they were taken to Haripur trauma centre where Nazakat was pronounced dead while the other two were admitted.
