PESHAWAR, July 19: Peshawar University has decided to construct two new academic blocks on the campus during the next two years at a cost of Rs500 million, a university spokesperson said on Monday. The decision was taken to give extra space to the existing departments to accommodate more students.

According to the spokesperson, two identical blocks of six-storeys will be built in front of the college of Home Economics. Each block will cover an area of 227,000 sq feet and have 14 departments.

The basement of each block will house human resources centre and administrative offices of each department and will be connected via intercom and computer networking. Two libraries, one for arts and the other for science, will be set up in the basement, covering an area of 10,000 sq feet.—APP
